A QUICK OVERVIEW OF BUSCH'S FAMILY SUPERMARKETS

Busch’s is a privately held, independent supermarket chain based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Joe Busch and Charlie Mattis started the family venture in 1975 by acquiring two stores in Clinton and Saline from Vescio’s Foods and naming them J&C Family Foods. When Joe retired in 1986, sons Doug, John, and Tim took over; the brothers acquired or built our other stores.

Ranging in size from 26,000 to 54,000 square feet, our stores are either freestanding or anchored to major shopping centers. We are a Spartan wholesale affiliate with a central production facility located in Clinton and currently employ over 1,500 associates.

Busch’s fresh Deli, Bakery, Meat, Seafood, and Produce departments are complimented by the teeming variety found in our Grocery aisles. Recognized as an industry leader by Store Equipment and Design Magazine, our newer stores include café areas to enjoy fresh brewed coffee or sample the exciting array of fresh gourmet foods from Busch’s Kitchen.
